Jacques Louis David 

Most popular art is "The Death of Marat". It is a painting by David of a murdered French revolutionist leader Jean Paul Marat. Charlotte Corday from a minor family and a political enemy of Marat who blamed him for the September massacre. She went into Marats room while Marat was in the bathtub doing work. Charlotte stabbed Marat and he died. She did not flee and was executed. 

Movement: Jacques used neoclassicism for his art work. Neoclassicism is the name given to western movements in the decorative and visual arts, literature, theatre, music and architecture that draw inspiration from the "classical" art and culture of Ancient Greece or Ancient Rome. 

Jacques second most popular art is called "Oath of the Horati" (1784). The roman legend between two warring cities.. Rome and Alba Longa, three brothers from a roman family agreed to end war by fighting a family.
