3 Part Art Series Idea #2 (update)

I decided to change my mind on what my first idea was going to be for my second art work which is using canvas. I was looking up quotes online about mental health and came across this one... "If mental illness could be seen on a sufferer, maybe society wouldn't say “just get over it”. This quote is beyond perfect to add into my canvas piece. My idea when I seen this was to take a picture of my sister (once I have her permission) and too have her hands wrapped around her neck but i want it to look like how this photo is except using my own person and different area. To me that means a person can not tell if an individual has a mental disorder because its all on the inside. If you were to put 100 different people together side by side and pick out the ones who have a mental disorder that would be impossible because its whats on the inside, not the outside.

 Theres a movie called Cyberbully starring Emily Osment. Even though this movie is about bullying, it still is very touching and sad for me to watch because my sister use to be bullied online just like this girl in the movie and after seeing this movie, I always thought to myself "I hope she never does this". Who decides if you are an artist?

Something that I love most is technology. I have my phone with me 24/7 and am always on it pretty much. The way technology has evolved is crazy. Well so has the way art is shared as well. Like my art teacher Mrs. Rose has said in her recent blog post ( https://storify.com/ColleenKR/who-decides-if-you-are-an-artist ), art is now shown over social media such as Instagram, Facebook, twitter etc. You do not have to physically see the artwork now in a gallery, but over technology. How cool is that? My opinion on sharing your artwork over social media is much more effective because more and more people can view it. I think its awesome.  This question "Would you post your art on the internet or not?" gives me mixed signals because for one: I would love to share my art over the internet, but the downfall of that would be other people trying to steal your picture of your art unless you put your name on it somewhere. Exploring Films/Art 21

I chose this video because I was curious to see it because it was dated 2014. My initial reaction to this video was stunning. I use to only think that art was made up of drawings, painting, sketches, but this video proves to me that you can make art out of just about anything. People in this video make art out of very unique items such as sand, or random items being put together. In the video, a women said that "The good thing about an art piece is people are not sure if its art or not." I really like that quote.  I would like to know why this guy chooses the items that he chooses for his artwork. Id like to know how he comes up with a design and how he puts the pieces together.
